The Sunday Currently Vol. 8

No one's really interested about what I do on Sundays. But I'll write about them anyway.

George Orwell's 1984. I've been looking for this book for ages and finally hit a jackpot. I didn't have all the time to read it yesterday but I'm now halfway to it. Sure it does have a slow start but I got absorbed. It is so unsettling I wish my brain would stop giving me the imagery. I know it's too early for a review but then I can already see a masterpiece out of it

This. What else? Oh wait, I should be plotting our itinerary now. But then, I still have ten days to do that.

to Despacito. Ugh. If I hear another despacito song again, I swear I'm gonna lose it.

I haven't actually watched anything today. But yesterday, Jan and I watched Dunkirk. I have a high regard for Christopher Nolan as a director/producer, but I'm afraid this one's a little unsatisfying. Well, I was kind of expecting something that's mind blowing like Inception or Interstellar caliber where they get to outwit or outplay the enemy but I guess that doesn't always happen to true-to-life war stories. But don't get me wrong, I love the film. It was gripping. Probably because I have this penchant for war and history. Or probably because the whole time I was waiting for something really big. If I rate it based on visuals and cinematography alone, then I'd give it 5 stars. But with character development and emotion, I think it needs work.

Feeling critic lang. Haha

I overslept. My mind is sabaw right now.

for a less stressful and great week ahead.

Life. Charaught! But really, I'm getting by the dreaded no-travel months. Haha.

Oh world, why do you have to be so cruel?

Moolah. Please. See those beautiful black Onitsuka Tiger Mexico 66 sneakers? I wish I could pull the what-sarah-wants-sarah-gets card right now but I couldn't because I just laid all my travel plans for this year.

hungry. Ate a kimchi noodles earlier but meh. I'd actually take any Japanese over Korean dish. Gawd, I want a makiritto or a burisushi - whatever you call it - right now.

for the days to fast forward to August 3. I can't wait to fly again.

the photos of yesterday's DBS Acquaintance Party. We definitely all had a blast! I think we, the officers, deserve a pat on the back. Good job, team!

  1. I thought I was just the one who found Dunkirk boring. Nolan was too hyped this time.

    1. Actually, I was not really bored. I like movies in WWII setting. But there was no character development and emotional buildup. There was no climax. It was just simply a story of survival. I've seen sadder and heart-wrenching ones, so Dunkirk's a little letdown for me.

I like this song! Hope you'll have a wonderful weekend :)
