What's New?

The first day of 2018 went well because I spent it with Jan and we went off somewhere that inspired and motivated me to do better financially this year. However, the days that followed were hell (read: worked at least 12 hours a day). Ugh. It was a stressful week but I got better days ahead of me and I'm really looking forward to it. So first, I'll start off with all things new.

New Priorities. I've sorted out my priorities this year and traveling isn't really on top of the list. Of course, I will still be visiting new places but it won't be as often as I did before. In fact, we just scrapped our Kuala Lumpur trip that's supposed to happen next week. I cancelled the Singapore trip happening mid year. Haha. Huhu. But that's okay. Jan and I have bigger and better plans that got me really excited but I won't be squealing about it just yet. If you think you're hearing wedding bells, better get yourself checked because you're just hallucinating. Relax. Aabot kami dyan, but not now.

New Opportunities. Grabbed new opportunities to learn and earn. And I think this is just perfect to keep me from scrolling through Facebook, lurking on travel groups, eyeing promo fares, and watching derp cat videos the whole day.

New Skill. I have to learn how to drive because... ugh... adulting. If only video game driving translated to real life skills, then I wouldn't have to face the horror of handing over my hard-earned money that could already take me to Batanes and back to a driving school that will only teach me why seat belts matter. Syet na malagkit ang mahal. Haha. Huhu.

But I will be lying if I say I'm not excited about it. We have just gotten a new baby and I couldn't stop thinking about the places I've never been to. I might not be flying as often as I would want but I will still be going to places. I've never been keen about road trips but this time, maybe it's going to be different.
Among all the beaches I've been to, Dahican is by far my favorite. It's a 4-hour drive from Davao and sooner or later I might be able to go here as often as I want to.
New Lifestyle. I am trying to get enough sleep like everybody does. I've been wrestling with insomnia since time immemorial and I think this is even harder than learning how to parallel park perfectly. I wish my brain has a turn off button or something so it could stop spending the entire night calculating how much sleep I could get in every minute that passes. Haha. Huhu.

New Found Love. I do have seasonal cravings. 2 years ago, I went loco over choco wacko. Then last year was all about takuyaki. This year? I think it has got to be tea. With all the pressure I get from work and the laundry that hasn't been touched since the last week of December (I'm already at the point when I look at the pile, I'm seriously considering of throwing them away), I could use an extra hand here but a large cup of kiwi yakult tea with jelly sinkers or boba red assam milk tea would be better. Haha. Huhu.

New Banner. In case you didn't notice, I changed my banner and it perfectly describes what I aim for 2018. Minimal. So from now on, I'll simplify and eliminate the unnecessary.

It's only the second week of January and I know I still have a lot of new things to do and more to discover. But that's all for now. I hope everyone will have a great year ahead!
