1+1 = 1

I was, as usual, browsing through Facebook when I saw this post:

If you read the whole thing, that is exactly how Jan is. And it actually feels better knowing I'm not the only one who suffers the same fate (more than 40,000 people who can relate shared it as of this posting).

Jan is a lurker. And I swear, when I or any of his friends mention/tag him, you get zero reaction from him. Kahit 'like', wala. Unless it's about boxing or MMA. Although it may seem he's ignoring everything, he does reply to my posts through a private message.

Jan and I don't see each other every day but we talk A LOT. He may not be vocal on social media, but we share a lot of stuff in private. From cat videos to politics to quantum physics and shit. And I think it's better that way because we get to discuss things and have meaningful conversations no matter how trivial and silly our topics seem to be.

Here's just one of our cray-cray conversations:

I'm too lazy to transcribe this to a language everyone understands. But I don't know what's worse, social media PDA or being in relationship that talks about neural networks, algorithm, or Banach-Tarsky Paradox. Haha.

Also, what did I do to deserve a boyfriend who loves freaky science and can keep up with my Harry Potter insanity at the same time? Sarah, you must be a lucky girl.

Anyway, I’ll be off now. I know it's a mortal sin to use the words productive and weekend in one sentence, but I'm going to have a productive weekend this weekend. We've already made it halfway through the year, I wish everyone great days ahead. Stay away from social media, it's a toxic world out there.

  1. Wala akong naintindihan sa conversation and even if you transcribe it I will not be able to understand that still. I never heard about Banach-Tarsky Paradox but even after looking for answers from google, I still do not understand it. You two are bunch of nerds.

    1. We’re not. We’re just interested in topics most people are not really interested about. :)

    1. Actually before, I would feel off that Jan isn't so expressive on Facebook. Haha. But then, he's better off the internet. Mas okay na yung deadma lang online pero bawing-bawi naman offline. Yung iba, PDA nga online pero in real life di naman ganun ka sweet. Also, for me mas cool ang mga lalakeng di mahilig mag Facebook. Haha.
