My little man

It breaks my heart to see my baby grow up so fast. I wish I could just slow down the time and enjoy his sloppy kisses. Sooner or later he wouldn't want to be carried anymore, he wouldn't want me kissing him in public, he'll be going out with friends, go out on a date, move out. Awww... hahaha. I wish babies can be babies forever.

Anyone can cook

Remember Chef Gusteau's book 'Anyone can cook'? Well, apparently, I just proved it to be true.

I never really loved cooking. I am the one who used to wait while the mom cooks and I devour as much as I can. I never really liked the kitchen. At 20, I only know how to fry hotdogs and eggs.

Football!

Went to play football with my buddies. it was hella fun! Never thought i'd play again after 5 years.

The first few drills were fine. Jogged about 8 laps and I'm surprised that we're able to surpass it.

But after a few minutes of a small 5-a-side game, we were already panting like mad. hahaha. Need to have that stamina again. >.<

The Perks of Working at Home

I design websites for a living, cook breakfast, wash the dishes, then feed, bathe and play with my son at the same time. Sounds like too much of a juggle? I don't think so.

I survived the first crucial year of mommyhood, tending to my son's needs, always there to see my baby's sloppy first, watching him grow every minute, never missing a milestone - while at the same time earning money for our basic needs. See? That reason alone is the greatest perk of working at home.

I just can't throw a friend away

There's this one book that I have for more than a decade already. I had this since I was in high school.

I remember the day when randomly picked a book from a bookshelf in our school library, filled up my library card, and went home. I opened the book, started reading it and for seven days it became my sleeping pill. It's a very small book, but it took me a week to finish it because I kept putting it down but most of the time, the book would send me to sleep. I did not appreciate it. I was 13 then.

2nd Digital Paint

Second attempt to digital painting. I think this isn't my forte. I haven't invested a lot of PATIENCE for this. I hope this wouldn't be my last, but I can see that it's already gearing towards that. Second attempt. Not bad, eh? But I know, I know. It still has a lot of flaws. Just look at the hair. LOL.

I started this project last July 25 and finished this on the 28th. Overall, it took me more than 18 hours to get this done. 64+ layers whew! Caused me a few numb and tingling fingers, strained eyes, and an aching back.. so I think I’m going to reward myself.

I eat pixels for lunch

I am a rusty machine that never sleeps. I follow a boring routine. Wake. Eat. Work. Sleep. Repeat. The only part of the day that has a a lot of life is when I spend time with my son.

That has been my life ever since I graduated from college.  Yes, I usually spend most of my time in front of the computer writing articles and mostly Photoshopping.

To others, my life seems so boring. Some would even say that I must get a life. But hey, I am actually doing something worthwhile, something that makes me happy, and it's something that I love.

And from that moment, I know they are wrong.

I have a life. This is how I chose to live my life. I am happy with it.

Anyway, enough of that drama-rama. Last week, I was able to make my first digital painting. And I like how it turned out. I still need a lot of practice though.

scanned a sketch. sketch is not mine. i just borrowed it from a friend. :)

added colors. and a bit of details on the trunk/branches so that i would be guided.

brush.erase.brush.erase.brush.erase.smudge.dodge. and repeat until i get what i wanted

added vibrance.

made it more detailed, especially the leaves. took me a long time to do this. varying tones and colors are my weaknesses

finished product! whew!

Of Stethoscopes and Keyboards

Eight years ago, when I was at the verge of choosing my career path, anything that has something to do with computers never crossed my mind. I disliked our computer subject in high school… you just don’t know how much I hated Visual Basic and Pascal Programming Language. I never liked staying in front of the computer. I barely lasted 15 minutes using it.

So I decided to take up Nursing because I did not know what I really want. Plus, it doesn’t have a lot of Math subjects. And it was so "uso" at that time. And I know a lot of friends who are going to take the course too. So I thought it should be fun.

25 random facts about me

Got tagged in facebook. Had fun reading some of my friends' random facts. So, I might as well make one too. :D

Fast, fun facts you might want to know about me:

1. I got bitten by my pet tarantula. Got fever and a numb left arm 30 minutes after for two days and never told anybody about it. haha

2. Tarantulas don’t scare me, FROGS do (especially those warty, brown/green big ones.. ugh stay away!)

3. I am always late. I flunked a major subject because of my accumulated tardiness. xD

First time to create a pop-art. I think it turned out fine. :)
