Confessions Vol. 8: What I Was Like 10-15 Years Ago

By Sarah Aterrado - May 15, 2016

If it wasn't for the review I made, I would not have blogged anything for almost two weeks. And so I start to think, in the name off all that is holy, haven't you done anything that is interesting, Sarah?

Actually, a lot happened. But I can only think of it as something worth shrugging or eye-rolling. Or something that's only twitter-worthy for it can only be summed up into less than 160 characters like, "Yay! It's the first time I voted. Just look at my blue fiiiiiinger!" or "Just saw someone took a Bacardi 151 shot. Reaction? Priceless. And now I'm curious because it feels like I missed something surreal", or "Ian Somerhalder just replied to my tweet! Best day ever!"

Okay, I made the last one up. Although I would have loved being that fangirl, but my twitter account is pathetic and I could not even remember the password. But anyway, on a Saturday when all the chores are done and my cat refuses to bath, I decided to take a trip down memory lane and might as well humiliate myself just to stir something interesting. Or not. Please don't judge.

When I was 5 or 6 and some time when I was 18 - 20
College days. DotA days. YM days. Back then, before cellphone cams dominated, webcams were a thing. And I was already a selfie queen. I have hundreds of these and I ask myself why.
So these were my mad Photoshop skills, huh? Beat me.
I was hooked to MMORPGs and I made my own skins because I thought the default UI was ugly and mine was cool. Okay, Ignore the PINK, hearts, butterflies, and Curlz font. Actually, just ignore everything. I was more naive back then.
And here's my blog header when I was still blogging on mulitply. Shows how vain I was. Apparently, making pacute is so not cool.
This was my room. Just look at the bed sheet. And all this time I thought blue is my favorite color.
And I made duck faces too?! Seriously, Sarah?!
Buhay kolehiyala. Back when I look chic and hanging out at coffee shops boosts up the status quo.
Look at my eyebrow. Kilay 2000. Haha.
We got them nudes too. Haha
I don't know if this happened 10-15 years ago, but I auditioned for Survivor Philippines. So what happened? They thought I was a minor.
Just so you know, up until now I carry this tough and domineering demeanor. So being in love with pink before or getting fascinated with cutesy stuff like hearts and butterflies or simply being vain and narcissistic is something not everybody knows. Actually, I don't remember this side of self - you know, doing and loving this girly girl type of girl stuff - until I saw these photos. Yes, I do have a side that's not all dark and evil too. Haha. So now that you know about this side of me that is mostly kept hidden in plain sight, I hope it will no longer surprise you the next time you see me being pagirl.

Anyway, that's it. As much as I wanted to share more (I know there's a lot more embarrassing photos from my Friendster and Multiply but these have long been gone), these are all I can dig up from Photobucket. I think that's the only site that still has my memoirs from 10-15 years ago. I'm glad I was still able to save some. :)

Apparently, I wasn't cool as I thought I was. But I know I had the coolest teenage years. Now I'm wondering what my 40-year old self will think about everything that's written and will be written on this blog. I hope I will not disappoint.
