More meat yer arse

By Sarah Aterrado - January 28, 2019

You know how I still get "judged" for being skinny despite my reputation of being a voracious eater and having a flabby midsection (that's about 2 inches of pinchable flab, I kid you not).

"Kain ka ng marami. Mas maganda kung magkalaman ka ng konti."

No high waisted pants can hide my flabs.
Not that I take offense at such. But I'm sick of explaining that I don't go on a diet or that it runs in the blood, yadda yadda. So before anyone strikes me again with remarks about being underfed, malnourished, and that I should go get a quarter pounder, let me tell you this: I would eat the next person who will tell me that I look better with more meat.

I dare thee.

  1. I don't like it if people make it as a greeting like, "uy ang payat mo na, kumakain ka pa ba?" or "tumaba ka!" like it's the new "hello". But I don't support fatness either because it is not healthy. I get concerned when friends or family get really fat. The problem is, how can you address this to someone without him/her being offended?

    1. I'm not really sure how to address that. I haven't actually said anything directly to my friends but whenever I see them trying to become healthy fit, I support and encourage them not to stop doing it.

  2. I love this post! I am a victim on a regular basis too, specially reunions. I'm trying to trim down but it's not that easy. So I hope people are not too quick to judge na pabaya kami sa katawan. There are people who have not embraced their body shapes yet and imagine hearing something nega from other people, nakakadown yun ng self-esteem.

    1. Yeah. That's why people should just shut their mouths if they have this urge to say something not nice to someone they barely know.

    1. Mao jud. I don't easily get offended. But I find it annoying when someone gives me an unsolicited advice on what I should do with my body or how I should look. Samok.

  4. The struggle is real talaga. Paulit-ulit na lang ang pagexplain. Always na lang akala ng mga tao anorexic ako sa mga nakakakilala sa akin baboy akong kumain.

    1. Struggle is real to gain weight. But in my case, most of my friends know I eat a lot when I want to. I can eat a lot of if I have to. But mostly now, I'm just trying to keep it low and stay healthy.
