The Wedding Diaries: Nope, Nope, Nope

By Sarah Aterrado - April 23, 2019

Nope. Nope. Nope. Nope. Nope nope nope nope nope nope nope.

That's what I keep telling myself every time I come across a hashtag for the wedding.

One friend suggested #anJANnasiSARAH.

Big NOPE.

As much as I love puns, can we all just agree that puns don't work on wedding hashtags? Honestly, the wedding hashtags coming out of my news feed are a disgrace to the pun artistry. They are ridiculous, cringey, not to mention, they sound too forced. No offense to my friends who have had punny wedding hashtags. But that's the truth and you're also welcome to say that I'm just bitter because our names don't work well with hashtags. Haha.

We could skip the hashtags, but we won't because it's easier to track guest photos with a hashtag, given that they post about it. I know we have hired photographers to do the job and I would have wanted an unplugged wedding. But I would also love to see our wedding from everyone else's eyes (a.k.a. the spontaneous, blurry, and not-so-flattering ones).

And just when I thought deciding on a hashtag is just a small, little, minute part of our mile-long list of task, my brain refused to function properly. I have not tried anything yet and I'm already out of ideas. Anything? Anyone?

Anyway, if we could not come up with something creative, clever, and short, we could just go for #JanSarah2019 — which is probably someone's Facebook password right now.
