The recent weeks have been crazy. I spent a stupid amount of time fretting over our kids' visa application. But of course, I sucked it up and self-medicated with online shopping.
Then last week, I finally let my hair down after collecting our kids' passports with multiple-entry visas on it. So I celebrated by checking out more items on my cart. It's a big win after all. Haha.
Yesterday, Jan offered to buy me a bag because his tomtoc travel bag arrived (law of equivalent exchange, remember? haha), and as an awesome wife, I declined. Because also as an awesome albeit slightly devious wife, I'm saving my shopping plans for our next out-of-the-country trip. Haha. Kidding! But I gave him a cheaper alternative and told him I just want a skort because I really think I look so damn cute in them.
And this morning when we woke up, we realized we hadn’t planned on anything for our 7th wedding anniversary. BUT we booked a pickleball court to train because we also signed up for a tournament organized by Jan’s batchmates as a fundraiser for their alumni homecoming, all the while forgetting about this special day.

So we decided that our incoming Japan trip will be our anniversary celebration. Haha. Yes, we did not do anything fancy today, as always. But I don't mind. I look at how I am treated in the other 364 days and I don't need a culmination to know I am loved and appreciated. Plus, our relationship didn’t start the day we got married. We just made it legal 7 years ago today.
So here’s to a lifetime of doubles, on the court and in life. I am truly grateful to have spent all these years with Jan.
Happy anniversary to my running buddy, my pickleball partner, my rock, my home, and my one and only.
May the 4th be with us!
