Disney Magic in Tokyo

Japan has become one of those places that keeps calling us back. This was already our third trip, and every visit has given us something new to love, whether it's the food, the culture, the convenience, or simply the feeling of being there.

But despite visiting Japan before, there was one "must-visit" place Jan and I had never been.

Tokyo Disneyland.

As much as we love Disney, visiting Tokyo Disneyland was never something we felt we had to do every time we were in Tokyo. And now, looking back, maybe the universe was simply waiting for the perfect moment. It made our first visit even more special because we got to experience the magic with the little people who make our world complete.

Walking through the gates of Tokyo Disneyland felt just as magical for us as it did for the kids. Seeing their faces light up while waving excitedly at their favorite Disney characters and experiencing the rides together reminded us that some adventures become even more meaningful when shared with the people you love most.

As parents, it's easy to focus on making memories for your children. But somewhere between the laughter, the excitement, and the endless photos, we realized we were making new memories for ourselves too.

Kuya Red's missing in action because he's already enjoying (or more like lining up for) the rides.

Our third trip to Japan wasn't about discovering a new country, it was about discovering Japan through our children's eyes.

Everything just felt different. We'd watched those Disney parades before, but this time they felt even more magical. Most of the rides are really meant for little kids—something our younger selves might have found a little boring—but experiencing them with our kids turned every ride into an adventure.

And if there's one thing this trip taught us, it's that sometimes the best firsts happen when you share them with the people you love dearly.

Some firsts are worth waiting for.

This one certainly was.
