'A Quiet Place' Nailed It (A Not So Serious Review)

It's been like a day and I feel like I should have moved on by now, but I can't. I just can't. This is kind of surprising because "horror" movies don't scare me at all. Sorry, Jan. I'm not the type of girl that you can take to a horror movie so I can bury myself into your chest whenever a "frightening" scene comes. Haha.

Honestly, I can be so annoying when watching a horror/thriller film because I will just keep on giving comments on the logical flaws and tiny loopholes I see in a movie or how dumb and foolish these horror movie characters are.

BUT! This time, I was too quiet and I was clutching Jan's arm almost the entire time. I would say, A Quiet Place is one of the most intense movies I've ever seen.  Because you know what's the real monster here? It's that teeny tiny object on the stairs that's silently waiting for sorry victims. And you know what makes it absolutely brilliant and terrifying at the same time? It's the silence itself. It's when you put people at the edge of their seats without having to use special sound effects or the usual jump scares or gore. Plus the movie would make you feel you're part of it. There was this guy sitting behind us who had to open a bag of chips really slowly and carefully because he knows that noise is synonymous to death. But really, I appreciate it when people try not to disrupt the movie - something that never happened before.

I just watched this yesterday and I already want to go back and see it again, cringe one more time, and maybe remember what's it like not to breathe.

If I'm going to rate this movie from 1-10 with 10 being the highest. I'd give it a 13. Well, what can I say? The movie NAILED it.

P.S. If you're going to watch this, don't bring chips, don't fart, or better yet, don't breathe.
